My projects for the club

I have designed a convolutional neural network to search thousands of electron microscope images of the Stardust sample collector foils in order to locate the relatively sparse impact craters containing the world’s only available cometary materials.

My research

Currently I am investigating new techniques for analyzing the microscopic cometary materials captured by the aerogel and foil sample collectors on board NASA’s Stardust spacecraft.
